What To Expect In Your Yoga Class

Yoga is a wonderful form of exercise. It tones and strengthens the body by relaxing and releasing the tightness in muscles, creating flexibility. It also quiets and focuses the mind.

Yoga will make you feel and look great! Yoga is best on an empty stomach, you should dress comfortably, bring a yoga sticky mat or large size beach towel, and a bottle of water. Shoes or socks are not required. It is best to not wear fragrances.

FLOW YOGA - Flow Yoga moves systematically through a continuous sequence of yoga poses. Emphasis is placed upon breathing techniques, body alignment and expansion of the body and mind into new (old) yogic traditions.
 
ASHTANGA - This type of class is influenced by the Astanga style and will introduce the student to the fundamentals of Astanga yoga. You should learn the essentials of breath work, Bandhas (internal locks) and Vinyasas (flow of movements). Be prepared for a wonderful workout and to sweat.

HOT YOGA - An exciting and vigorous workout that stretches muscles, ligaments and tendons. Be prepared to sweat in a heated room as you move through postures designed to tone and strengthen the body. Beginners and advanced yoga students will benefit from the poses designed to take the body to its proper weight, tone the muscles, provide good health and a sense of well being.

HATHA - Instructed in a gentle, supportive manner, this class is for beginners as well as those with years of experience. Learn to link the breath with movement and increase your flexibility, strength and balance. You should learn to relax, rejuvenate, and experience yourself in a new way.

POWER YOGA - Be prepared to sweat, as you are guided through a flowing sequence of postures designed to build strength, increase flexibility and relax your mind! You will leave feeling vibrant and centered!

DEMI POWER - An intermediate power yoga class that varies the sequence of postures, but still builds strength, increases flexibility and relaxes your mind. You will also leave feeling vibrant and centered.

SHAKTI YOGA - Want to set your spirit free while toning and strengthening your body? Here’s an active body/mind workout that uses a combination of yoga postures, powerful movements, focused breathing, positive imagery and uplifting affirmations to reconnect with the power of your feminine creative energy. Set to the pace of inspiring music, you will leave a class feeling renewed.

SIVANANDA YOGA - A nicely paced, yet challenging routine based on the teachings of Swami Vishnu Devananda. With the practice of the breath in conjunction with the postures, we gain flexibility of the body and calmness of the mind. People of all ages benefit from this practice.

SUNRISE YOGA - Start your day off with this energizing workout. This will awaken your mind and body for the day. You will practice flowing yoga energizing the body while producing a calm mind.

YOGA FOR ALL - This class is for everyone including beginners, intermediate and advanced. All can benefit from this type class. Enhance your practice give this one a try.

YOGA BLEND - An eclectic blend of yogic traditions. With a focus on proper body alignment and conscious breathing. This form of yoga can be enjoyed by all “bodies” with any or no yoga experience. Also recommended for pre and postnatal students.

FREESTYLE YOGA - This class is a blend of different yoga styles to strengthen and lengthen your body. Give your body a tune up in this invigorating class.
